Don Molis

Donald V. Molis, 84, of Iron River, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013 at his residence. He was born Jan. 26, 1929, in Ashland, the son of Gustav and Mary (Anderson) Molis.
He graduated from Ashland High School and served in the U.S. Navy for three and a half years. On Dec. 2, 1950, he married Marlene M Parent, in Ashland. For 42 years, he worked as a pipefitter at James River Corporation. Don retired June 1, 1992. He loved being in the outdoors, baking and being with his family. He was a member of the Iron River Lions Club, VFW and the American Legion.
He is survived by three daughters, Dorene (Gerald) Radomski, Elm Grove, Lynn Marie (William) Metzinger, Ashland and Michelle Molis PhD, Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren, Erin (Jeremy) Swanson, Matthew (Amanda) Metzinger and Beth Ann (Peter) Tetzner; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Gavin and Lauren Jo; a sister, Marion Bruce, Franklin, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene on June 30, 2007; an infant brother; and four sisters.
Private family funeral services will be held.
