I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
... Alfred, Lord Tennyson
Donna May Callahan
October 14, 1945 - September 05, 2020
Donna May (Easty) Callahan died peacefully, September 5, 2020, surrounded by her loving family, after a brave fight with ALS for 3 ½ years. Donna was a beautiful inspiration for everyone throughout her illness. Her life was an example, to her family and the community, of how to live and how to die. She spent her life loving and caring for others, whether it was her husband, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family, friends or patients. She will be remembered for her beauty, her boundless energy, and being a gracious hostess at a moment’s notice. She always had time for everyone.
Donna enjoyed spending time at the cabin with friends and family and especially loved Domino and Pontoon parties. She was the ultimate hostess at the Annual Callahan Halloween Party. She also loved dancing with Ted and attending dance parties. Donna loved to travel and spent several years as a tour guide with her daughter, Tammy’s travel agency.
Donna was born October 14, 1945, and grew up in Lake Nebagamon. She graduated from Northwestern High School in 1963. She married her high school sweetheart, Ted Callahan on March 20, 1965. They lived in Duluth, MN from 1965 - 1975 and then they relocated to Iron River, WI in 1975 to raise their 4 children.
